Flat Tire Scam Car Burglaries in the PGI area Scammers targeting the Elderly
A Neighborhood Warning
There have been unconfirmed reports of coyotes in the neighborhood. The coyotes are apparently living in the field by Sweetbay, but hunting in this area. We have set out traps, but there is nothing in them. In the meantime, please make sure that you are taking care of your animals and keeping them in your area. Cats need to be kept in their yards and homes, not able to be free to roam around. Dogs need to be kept on leashes all the time. While these rules are in the Deed Restrictions, there have been sightings of neighborhood dogs and cats roaming around.
Please be diligent for the safety of your animal and yourself. Coyotes do not tend to respond to pepper spray, but Lee County told its residents to walk with sticks or golf clubs in case a leashed animal is targeted. As soon as we have any updates, we will be sure to let you know.
Are you a Vacant Lot Owner??
During storm season, it is common to receive a high amount of wind and rain. As many of you know with the vacant lots, that leaves a large amount of debris. Please check your lot for any fallen debris. If you live out of town, have us or Star look at your lot for you. We can get you a photo of your lot, and Star can give you a name of tree trimmers in the area. When you don’t clean up your lot, the mowers just mow around the debris, leaving a mess behind.
Neighborhood Safety
At a prior POA meeting, Sgt. Reynolds came by to talk to us about home safety and neighborhod watch. She offered us simple reminders, such as locking our doors and windows, keeping the garage doors down and keeping an eye out for strange things. This couldn’t have come at a better time – 2 days later there was a report of a daytime burglary in the Meadows.
If you see anything out of the ordinary, please call the PGPD at (941) 639-4111. If you see a robbery in progress, please call 911 and let them handle it.
Also, if you are a dog walker or a person who is a daily walker, we need your eyes for the neighborhood watch. If you are interested in joining, please call the PGPD, or contact us. We will get you to the correct people.
Attention Dog Walkers
Most of us love the little furry creatures that become a part of our family. However, not many of us love what they leave behind. Please be courteous to all our residents and use a bag when your animal relieves themselves. It is a city ordinance and a common courtesy that you clean up after your animal.
